PURPOSE:To obtain a tamper-proof effect by placing restrictions on information so as to execute reception without receiving all when information of a facsimile (FAX) continuously arrive. CONSTITUTION:If an infrared-ray sensor 3 outputs a signal showing the absence of people, the number of recorded sheets in recording papers is restricted to a previously registered value. If the number of sheets reaches the restricted number, the feeding of the recording papers is released and a relay Y-1 is turned off. Furthermore, the closing of a telephone line is released and the FAX on a reception side is restored in a standby state standing by for subsequent incoming. If the infrared-ray sensor 3 has detected the presence of the people, all data on an original which is transmitted from the FAX on the side of a caller are recorded in the recording papers on the reception side based on the output. The number of reception sheets can optionally be set in the FAX by the remote control operation of an owner by a pushphone.
