<p>PURPOSE:To realize not only normal rotation reproduction but also reverse rotation reproduction by allowing a picture signal between a head picture signal and an end picture signal to execute forcasting encoding which utilizes correlation between the picture units and allowing the head picture signal and the end picture signal to execute forcasting encoding which utilizes correlation within one picture unit. CONSTITUTION:When compressed picture data recorded on a CD-ROM 6 is read in the reverse order of recording, as the encoding within a frame G[E(n)'] is executed without a negative sign for a read (n)th frame at first, the same picture data V(n)' as a local encoding output obtained in the process of the encoding is reproduced. On the other hand, from forcasting error data E(n) successively sent after the forcasting data E(n)', the negative sign is added to the output of a reverse quantization circuit 13 and simultaneously to that, the encoding which utilizes the correlation between the frames is executed. Therefore the picture data V(n)'-E(n), that means V(N-1) is reproduced. Besides, the picture is reproduced in the reverse way when it is recorded such as V(n-2) is reproduced with V(n-1)-E(n-1) successively to the reproduced picture V(n-1) of a (n-1)th frame and finally all the picture data from V(n) to V(1) are reproduced.</p> |
