PURPOSE:To obtain fiber reinforced cement having excellent long-term durability by reinforcing cement contg. active silica powder with glass fibers contg. zirconia and rare earth oxide. CONSTITUTION:This fiber reinforced cement is formed by reinforcing the cement contg. the active silica powder with the glass fibers contg. the zirconia and rare earth oxide. For example, fine amorphous silicon powder to be by produced at the time of producing metal silicon and ferrosilicon is adequate at the active silica powder to be used, since said powder has high purity and is fine powder. About 0.1-10mu is adequately adopted for the average particle diameter of the active silica powder. About 5-30wt.% is adequately adopted or the amt. of the active silica powder to be incorporated into the cement. The volume of the water to be used increases and there is possibility of the water to be used increases and there is possibility of a degradation in strength if the content is below the above-mentioned range and, therefore, such content is undesirable.
