PURPOSE:To drive a movable unit, by arranging ultrasonic wave oscillation generators respectively on the peripheral surface sections of tangential planes crossed together, and by performing an ultrasonic wave oscillation in a three- dimensional space. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic wave driving gear 10 is composed of a rod member 11 functioning as an ultrasonic wave oscillation propagation medium, and two piezoelectric ceramic members 12, 13 functioning as ultrasonic wave oscillation generators arranged on the peripheral surface sections of the tangential planes of the memher 11 which are crossed together. The piezoelectric ceramic members 12, 13 are composed of ceramics 23a, 13a, electrodes 12b-13c, and lead wires 12d-13e. When driving voltage is applied to via the lead wires 12d-13e, then ultrasonic wave oscillations due to both the members 12, 13 are multiplied by each other, and the rotational motion of an elliptical motion or the like is generated so that the rod member 11 may have component in two-dimensional plane including the extended direction of the member 11 and component in another two-dimensional plane crossed over said component and including the extended direction, and a motor can be driven. |
