发明名称 DRIVE METHOD FOR CHARGE COUPLED IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To attain efficient charge distribution by applying the charge transfer in a vertical shift register during horizontal blanking period and the distribution of electric charge to two horizontal shift registers independently entirely so as to extend an optical block output period. CONSTITUTION:A storage electrode 27 is provided adjacent to the final transfer electrode of a vertical shift register group. A horizontal blanking period is started at first at a time t40 and horizontal transfer pulses phiH1, phiH2 are driven succeedingly till a time t41 to output optical black(OB) information. At the time t40, after signal charges 30, 31 are transferred to a storage electrode 27 at the time t41 and transferred immediately to a transfer gate electrode 9 at a time t42. The electric charge is distributed the same as the case with the 1st field between succeeding times t43 and t45 and the signal charges 30, 31 are transferred while being distributed to horizontal shift registers 11(H-CCD1), 12(H-CCD2) and a horizontal transfer electrode 14 respectively. Thus, the optical black output period is taken long and the charge transfer in the vertical shift register and the charge distribution in the horizontal shift registers are applied efficiently.
