PURPOSE:To consecutively and efficiently check a recording medium while improving operability by supplying a recording medium contained in a case while tilting it at a specific angle and stacking the media side by side. CONSTITUTION:A carrier 24 where a case 27 containing a recording medium therein is stood and stacked laterally, a forced carrier mechanism 23 carrying the case laterally forcibly, a wall face 22a nearly perpendicular to which the head of the case supplied is abutting, are provided, and a case supply mechanism 29 supplying the case from the carrier path 24 outwardly, a case carrying part 41 having a carrier 40 receiving, holding and moving horizontally the case and a measuring instrument 5 receiving the case held by the carrier and measuring the characteristic of the recording medium are provided. Then the carrier path 24 is titled lower in the feeding direction in a range of 2-6 deg. with respect to the horizontal line. Thus, the excellent operability is attained and the recording medium is checked efficiently and continuously.
