PURPOSE:To effectively remove dust by exposing the flow of pellets to high- temp. gas and thereafter cooling the pellets and then allowing them to tumble, rub and collide with each other while flowing an air current and furthermore recirculating and reusing them. CONSTITUTION:High-temp. gas contg. dust and tar crosses the inside of the layer of pellets 5 and thereby dust and tar are collected and the gas is discharged to the outside of the system through an outflow part 3 of gas. The pellets 5 heated therein are successively moved to the lower part and cooled in a pellet cooler 6 and furthermore introduced into a zigzag-type pneumatic separator 10. Moving direction of dust is changed to an upward direction by means of the air current flowing upward from the lower part and pellets are allowed to mutually collide and thereby a carbide layer of the surface is peeled and made to fine powder and discharged together with air and dust through an air outlet 12. Thereafter the pellets 5 are fed to a cyclone 15 from a pneumatic transporter 13 and separated from air and carried to a gas cooler 1, circulated and used.
