PURPOSE:To realize a non-attaching and non-detaching type disk cartridge by a disk medium having low rigidity by pressing and holding the disk medium according to the bending of a metal film plate by the movement of an operating plate. CONSTITUTION:Since the one end of the metal film plate 12 is fixed to case members 2, 3, when a distance between both ends is shortened, the metal film plate 12 generates the bending to the disk medium 1 side externally of a guide slit 15. Consequently, the disk medium in a case is held at the top of the bending of the metal film plate 12. As the operating plate 13 is moved, the free end 14 of the metal film plate 12 is moved to a direction opposite to the inserting direction of a device. As a result of this, the distance between both the ends of the metal film plate 12 is enlarged, the bending is cancelled, the disk medium 1 can move freely to the direction of a thickness in the case since there is no bending and the disk medium 1 can be recorded and reproduced. Thereby, the non-attaching and non-detaching type disk cartridge can be realized by the disk medium of the low rigidity.
