<p>PURPOSE:To detect the temperature of a material with high accuracy by using actual result data on the heating or cooling of the material. CONSTITUTION:The surface temperature of the material 20 is measured by radiation thermometers 8-13 installed on the outside of a continuous heating furnace 1, the outside of a rough rolling machine array, the inside of a finish rolling machine array 5, and the inside of a outside takeup machine 7, inputted to a data gathering device 14, and processed by an arithmetic processor 15. Namely, when the temperature of the material 20 is detected, the temperature of the material 20 at the same position is measured at two different time points and the equivalent heat conductivity of radia tion is calculated. The mean heat conductivity of an atmosphere, on the other hand, is counted back from the heating or cooling actual result data. Then emissivity is so selected that the heat conductivity values obtained by those two kinds of methods become equal to each other. In another way, the emissivity is so selected that the highest temperature position in the thickness direction of the material at the time of cooling between two measured temperature or the lowest temperature position at the time of heating may be close to each other, thereby determining the emissivity, heat conductivity, material surface temperature and in-material mean temperature at the same time.</p> |
