Along a laterally jutting-out, profiled bearing means which is arranged such that it is sunk with respect to the outer edge, a profiled covering panel or strip consisting of plastic and intended for wall or facade claddings exhibits, at least in sections, prestamped slots which each have a central punching. In this manner, by setting a nail into the punching and striking it lightly with a hammer, the prestamped portion can spring out and the nail can be driven centrally into the slot. In order to receive the nail head securely, each prestamped slot is enclosed by an impressed hollow with corresponding dimensions.
