Coupling connection for combination vehicles comprising wheelchair and bicycle

The invention relates to the connecting mechanism of combination vehicles which comprise a wheelchair and the rear structure of a bicycle arranged in a pushing manner. In order to reduce the constructional complexity, to facilitate the coupling and uncoupling and to improve the stowability of the vehicle parts in the uncoupled state, it is proposed to design the coupling connection in such a manner that when coupling takes place a joint is produced. This can take place in that there are attached to the inside of the main wheel axles of the wheelchair swivelling bearing bushes into which there are inserted, when coupling up, transverse axles which are situated on a transverse support in front of the steering head. At least one of the axles is displaceable in the axial direction. In the case of folding wheelchairs, coupling and uncoupling takes place in the opened-out state via a rotary handle. The disabled person may at the same time remain seated in the wheelchair. If the procedure of opening out the wheelchair is for its part used to produce the connection by connection bushes, which are fixed on the insides in the region of the main wheel axles, being pushed via axle stubs which protrude inwards in a claw-like manner in front of a transverse support mounted in front of the bicycle-side steering head, the constructional complexity is further reduced. Both connections are so practicable that in less than 10 seconds coupling or uncoupling can take place.
