<p>PURPOSE:To surely detect jam with only one timer by resetting the timer which is set for one sheet of paper in order and using the timer for detecting the jam of following sheets of paper. CONSTITUTION:First and second paper detecting means PS6, PS7 are provided on the inlet and outlet of the unit interval, e.g., 30 of a paper conveying passage. When a sheet of paper is detected by the sensor PS6, the number of conveying sheet is counted by a counter control means and the number is reduced by the sensor PS7. When there is no sheet of paper in the conveying part 30, as a sheet of paper is detected by the sensor PS6, a jam detecting timer TJAM is set and the occurrence of jam is detected by the detection of the sensor PS7, a sheet number counter C, and the end of the timer and the jam is handled. And, when the sheet of paper arrives at the sensor PS7, the timer TJAM is reset. Hence, one timer will suffice.</p> |
