A description is given of a shoe blank (1) for a drum brake, the said blank being produced from hot-rolled strip steel and consisting of a radially extending web (3) and an axially extending strip (2) on the outside of the web, the shoe blank (1) consisting of two L profiles (9, 10) which rest against one another by the flange (4a, 4a) which forms the web (3) and are riveted together and the other flanges (4b, 4b) of which form the strip. <IMAGE>
