The invention relates to a process for producing rod-shaped spacers from cement-bound material by extrusion of a profile or workpiece and by cutting up this profile or workpiece in the transverse direction and into lengths which correspond to the length of the spacer to be produced. The special feature consists in the fact that a profile is extruded which has a plurality of profile elements which extend in the longitudinal direction of the profile and in which each profile element corresponds, as regards its design and shape, in each case to the rod-shaped spacers to be produced and the individual profile elements are joined to one another via material webs.
