PURPOSE:To enable an injection condition to be detected with a high accuracy by providing pipe diameter distortion quantity detecting means, peak hold means, rotation detecting means, comparing and judging means and output means. CONSTITUTION:Pipe diameter distortion quantity detecting means B outputs a signal in accordance with the pipe diameter changing quantity of a high pressure fuel pipe. Peak hold means C holds the peak value of a detection signal from the pipe diameter distortion quantity detecting means B. Rotation detecting means D detects the rotation of a crank shaft. Comparing and judging means E compares the peak values obtained by the peak hold means C at every two revolutions of the crank shaft with a reference value set in advance to judge the presence or absence of an abnormality and resets the peak hold means C. Then, output means F outputs the result of a judgment obtained by the comparing and judging means E.
