摘要 PURPOSE:To print a clear image having an excellent image density and being free of nonuniformity or scumming, by using a polymer comprising at least a butyl methacrylate monomer unit as a thermoplastic resin, and using a fatty acid as a heat-fusible substance. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording layer comprising an inorganic pigment, a thermoplastic resin and a heat-fusible substance as main constituents is provided on a base. The pigment is preferably zinc oxide. The thermoplastic resin is a polymer comprising at least a butyl methacrylate monomer unit. The resin may be, for example, a homopolymer of butyl methacrylate, a copolymer of butyl methacrylate with styrene or the like, or a mixture thereof. The heat- fusible substance is a fatty acid, particularly preferably, stearic acid. The pigment and the resin are suitably used in amounts in a weight ratio of 0.5/1-10/1, and the amount of the fatty acid is 0.1-10 wt.% based on the total amount of the pigment and the resin. As a water-resistant base, for example, a melamine-formaldehyde resin or the like is used.
