PURPOSE:To make the whole device compact in a diaphragm type actuator for adjusting the opening of a throttle valve by providing a valve for generating a dashpot effect and a negative pressure regulating solenoid valve in which the projecting length of a plunger is variable in a negative pressure chamber. CONSTITUTION:A diaphragm 1 is held between upper and lower casings 10, 11 and a rod 2 installed in the center part of the diaphragm 1 via plates 12, 13 is linked to a throttle valve 8, which is opened/closed in accordance with the negative pressure in a negative pressure chamber 3. In such an actuator, a valve 4 for generating a dashpot effect and a negative pressure regulating solenoid valve 5 are installed, while providing an orifice 18 for relieving negative pressure and a filter 19, on the upper casing 11. The negative pressure regulating solenoid valve 5 has a negative pressure introducing plunger 6 the projecting length of which is electrically adjusted in two or three stages at the time of idling up, and the plunger 6 is being energized in the upper position by means of a spring 22 at the time of non-idling up.
