PURPOSE:To eliminate the damage to a film after editing and the generation of noise at the time of use by cutting the join parts of information recording films in a sawtooth shape, joining the sawtooth shape parts of the join parts which are cut in the sawtooth shape, and splicing them in said state from above with an adhesive tape for editing. CONSTITUTION:The information recording film 6 is set in information recording film guide grooves 2 in the upper part of the block 1 of a zigzag type cutter for information recording film editing and cut by rotating a movable support member 4D. Thus, join parts 6A of two information recording tapes 6 to be edited are cut zigzag (in sawtooth shape), the zigzag parts of the zigzag cut join parts 6A are joined, and the adhesive tape 7 is stuck from above in said state, thus finishing the editing operation. Consequently, even when the tape is taken up, the join parts are flat as well as other parts and never deform, and the damage of the information recording tape 6 after its editing and the generation of noise at the time of use are precluded.
