PURPOSE:To facilitate the control of output regardless of load change by providing an inlet guide vane on the inlet of a compressor, keeping air at a defined mass and flow rate in accordance with atmospheric temperature, and keeping the air temperature on the outlet of an intermediate cooler at a set value. CONSTITUTION:In a gas turbine, air 1 in the atmosphere which is made a high pressure air via the low pressure part 2 of a compressor, an intermediate cooler 9, and the high pressure part 3 of the compressor, together with a fuel 6, is burned in a combustor 4 to obtain a high temperature and high pressure gas. And, a turbine 5 is rotated by this high temperature and high pressure gas, to rotate the compressor and to drive a generator 7 by the obtained power. In this case, the opening of an inlet guide vane 8 provided on the inlet of the compressor is adjusted in accordance with the atmospheric temperature to keep the air 1 at a defined mass and flow rate. Also, a cooling water flow rate control valve 10 is provided on the intermediate cooler 9 and the opening of the valve 10 is adjusted in accordance with the temperature of the air 1 on the outlet of the intermediate cooler 9, to keep the temperature of air on the outlet of the intermediate cooler 9 at a set value.
