PURPOSE:To control surely a copied image by imposing an original on a position detecting means brought to a non-copying position, and enabling instruction of a required position on the original surface desired to be copied while observing visually the original surface. CONSTITUTION:A sensible image is formed on a photosensitive body 10 by a known electrophotographic system. Many light emitting diodes 32 as photosensitive body irradiation means for applying light directly to the photosensitive body 10 are provided in an array shape along the transverse direction of the photosensitive body 10 between a fluorescent lamp 29 as a means for irradiating the original and a developing device 24. The quantity of the light emitted by the diodes 32 can be set as desired by the quantity of the current to be conducted to the diodes 32. A control part 34 for controlling the quantity of the electricity to be conducted is connected to the diodes 32. A position detection plate 36 on which the original 16 can be imposed and which detects the position assigned on the original surface 18 and an instruction pen 38 are connected, via flexible wiring board 35 and a cord 37, to the part 34.
