The invention relates to a device making it possible to signal pulling or loads applied on a swimming line in a swimming pool. It consists of a cylindrical pump body 1 in which slides a piston 11 through a sealing ring 8. An orifice 3 placed at the end of the pump body 1 enables the air whose pressure is relieved in the chamber 4 by passing into a pipe 7 to act on a pressure-sensitive switch with membrane 5. When a force antagonistic to that of the spring 6 is exerted on the piston 2, the air contained at a slight overpressure in the chamber 4 has its pressure relieved and the contact of the pressure-sensitive switch tilts, thus actuating an audible or luminous signal. The device according to the invention is intended particularly for dissuading swimmers from straddling swimming lines in a swimming pool, permitting better conditions for learning during lessons, protection of equipment and greater safety by signalling swimmers in difficulties who catch onto it. <IMAGE>
