PURPOSE:To efficiently produce the titled compound from ascorbic acid or araboascorbic acid and ATP, by cultivating a specific bacterium or by using a cell of bacterium, a supernatant liquid or a treated material of the cell as an enzyme source. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium belonging to the genus Aeromonas, Klebsiella, Flavobacterium, Pseudomonas, Bacillus or Beneckea, capable of producing AsA2P (ascorbic acid-2-phosphate) from ascorbic acid or araboascorbic acid and ATP, is cultivated in a medium containing a carbon source, a nitrogen source and an inorganic substance at 25-35 deg.C at pH6.5-7.5 for 10-100hr. Ascorbic acid or araboascorbic acid and ATP are brought into contact with the medium during cultivation, a culture solution of the bacterium, a cell, a supernatant liquid of the culture solution or a treated material thereof, preferably a surface active agent and an organic solvent are optionally added to the reaction solution and the reaction is carried out to produce AsA2P. |
