PURPOSE:To permit the reproduction of at least two kinds of optical disks with different diameters, by providing a disk rotating mechanism travel device which moves a disk rotating mechanism along a guide shaft. CONSTITUTION:An optical head travel device 27 which moves an optical head 15 along the guide shaft 14, and an optical disk rotating mechanism travel device 23 which moves the disk rotating mechanism 19 along the guide shaft 14, are provided. When the reproduction of a large disk is performed, a spindle motor 17 is set at the reproducing state of the large disk and a rack 20 is locked at the position. Also, a disk tray is set at the reproducing state of the large disk where a reading groove for a large diameter is set in parallel with the guide shaft 14. At this time, the optical head 15 is driven by an optical head feeding motor 25, and is moved integrally with the rack 24 along the guide shaft 14, and when the large disk is loaded on a disk loading part, a disk clamping device clamps the disk, and the spindle motor 17 is rotated, and the objective lens 15a of the optical head 15 performs the reproduction of the disk.
