PURPOSE:To prevent damage to an engine by checking whether the opening of a throttle valve is in the range of a preset opening corresponding to the preset number of revolution of the engine or not, and stopping the operation of the engine in case that the opening of the engine is out of the preset opening. CONSTITUTION:An operating condition detecting unit 4 which detects the number of revolution of an engine, the opening of a throttle valve, etc. is fitted to a LPG engine 2 and its output signal is sent to an engine control unit 6. In the unit 6, the number of revolution of the engine is controlled on the basis of the command signal of the number of revolution of the engine generated from a system control unit 8 in response to the load condition of a system 10 which conducts air-conditioning, hot water supply, etc., and the operating condition of the engine 2 is properly controlled. And in the engine control unit 6, the opening of the throttle valve is checked whether it is in the range of the preset opening or not in the preset number of revolution of the engine and the operation of the engine is permitted in case that it is in the range of the preset opening, and meantime in case that it is out of the range of the preset opening the operation of the engine is controlled to be stopped.
