A cellular foam part 10, produced beforehand, is positioned in an injection-press tool 3, 4, facing a mould cavity 7. The foam part 10 is compressed by closing the tool, after which the thermoplastic is moulded in the mould cavity 7, in contact with this compressed foam part 10, to which it is bonded. On opening the tool, the assembly obtained is released and the foam part 10 returns to its non-compressed original state. The method is intended, among others, for the manufacture of applicators for liquid products. <IMAGE>
