To prevent electric flashovers between the metallic cooking receptacle (1) and the metal lid (2), in the case of a cooking receptacle (1) for cooking food in a microwave oven, it is necessary to separate these parts from one another in space. For this purpose, the metal lid (2) and the cooking receptacle (1) are arranged relative to one another in such a way that the intervening medium, e.g. of plastic, is for the most part, at the same time also a necessary accessory for the cooking receptacle. This intervening medium is constituted by a water container (3) which has, below its upper edge (8), an edge strip (10) which protrudes at right angles all the way around the periphery and in which the metallic cooking receptacle is inserted. This cooking receptacle is covered by means of the metal lid (2) which is supported on the peripherally protruding side edge (10) of the water container (3) by its lower edge (11) of its edge region (5) overlapping the water container (3) and the cooking receptacle (1). This separation of the metallic media (1 and 2) makes it possible to cook food in a microwave oven without spark discharge from the metal part (1) to the metal part (2). <IMAGE>
