The device enables a light beam to be deflected about two axes, over a limited angular range. It comprises a reflector 10 supported by a base 18 via a universal-joint assembly and fitted with motor means enabling it to be driven in rotation about each of the two axes. The universal-joint assembly includes a first support 12 to which the reflector 10 is fixed and a second support 16 connected to the first support and to the base via flexural pivots 14, 20 defining two mutually-orthogonal rotation axes and the motor means include cams 24 acting on at least the first support against the action of return springs 28 in order to define the orientation of the first support about the said rotation axes. <IMAGE>
