PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous operation of an engine by stopping the engine if the oil pressure of the engine is below a predetermined value after a predetermined time elapses from the initiation of the start of the engine, and by inhibiting the restart of the engine thereafter until the oil pressure of the engine lowers below the predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:An oil pressure switch 4 which is turned on when the oil pressure of an LPG engine 2 is below a predetermined value (for example, 0.3 kg/cm<2>) and is turned off when it is above the predetermined value, is mounted on the engine 2. An output signal from this oil pressure switch 4 is transmitted to an engine control section 6 which starts the engine 2 only when the oil pressure switch is normally operated after the control section 6 receives a start signal. Further, the control section 6 checks the oil pressure of the engine after a predetermined time elapses from the time of the complete start of the engine, and if it is judged such that the oil pressure switch 4 is turned on while the oil pressure of the engine is below the predetermined value, the engine 2 is stopped. Further, after the stop of the engine, the restart of the engine 2 is inhibited until the oil pressure of the engine is below the predetermined value.
