PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition free from blooming even after being left standing over a long period, having high resistance to oxidative deterioration, etc., and suitable as a tape to be applied to a connecting part of power cable, by adding a specific amount of dicumyl peroxide, thio-bis(3-methyl-6-t- butylphenol), etc., to a base resin. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. of a polyethylene is compounded with (A) 1-3pts.wt. of dicumyl peroxide, (B) 0.03-0.14pts.wt. of 4,4'-thio-bis(3-methyl-6-t-butylphenol) and (C) 0.1-0.3pts.wt. of a bis[2-methyl-4-{3-n-(12C or 14C)alkylthiopropi onyloxy}-5-t-butylphenyl] sulfide.
