PURPOSE:To simplify the structure without necessitating an erasing head, by executing read-out write and erasion by only a read-out/write gap. CONSTITUTION:A first read-out/write core 1 and a second read-out/write core 2 provided with a narrow width part 2a are joined and a read-out/write gap 3 is formed. Subsequently, a guard band is formed by erasing both side parts of a write track written in a flexible disk by the read-out/write gap 3, by a leakage magnetic flux 6 which turns into the narrow with part 2a of the second read-out/write core 2 from the first read-out/write core 1. In such a way, provision of an erasing head is made unnecessary, and the structure is simplified.
