PURPOSE:To record the information using variation of electrical characteristics due to optical irradiation and eliminate the information by applying bias by arranging memory mediums so that they are sandwiched between a transparent electrode and at least one of other electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A memory medium which varies from the first electric characteristics to the second ones for a long period by irradiating a light having specific frequencies and returns to the first electric characteristics by applying bias is utilized. A plurality of electrodes are connected to the memory medium and one of them at least has a light transmission property. The electrodes are arranged so that the memory medium is sandwiched between a transparent electrode and one of a plurality of electrodes at least. Thus, the writing of a memory is carried out by using variations of the electric characteristics regarding the memory medium due to optical irradiation and stored data are eliminated by applying bias to the memory medium.
