PURPOSE:To facilitate handling and, at the same time, to keep the same effect for a long period of time, by impregnating perlite obtained by baking obsidian with an air treatment liquid. CONSTITUTION:A vitreous film is formed to the surface of perlite as a surface layer by baking and said surface layer has no water permeability. Then, said surface layer is removed, destroyed or shocked by polishing such as barrel polishing and cracking is formed to said surface layer to expose the interior of perlite. Next, this perlite is placed under vacuum and immersed in an air treatment liquid to be impregnated therewith under raised pressure. As the air treatment liquid used herein, every kind of a deodorizing liquid composed of a divalent iron ion-containing liquid, an aromatic liquid composed of a flavor- containing liquid or a sterilizing/insect control liquid such as peppermint oil is used. By this method, the air treatment agent can be lightly handled as a solid without exuding the liquid and the effect thereof is kept for a long period of time. |
