PURPOSE:To take a color stereoscopic image of high quality free from duplication and blur with one camera by fixing the time required for conversion from an optical signal to an electric signal with respect to each picture element constituting image information from two optical paths through which images are alternately formed on an image pickup means. CONSTITUTION:Reflection mirrors and prisms are used to form two optical paths 101 and 102 having parallax from the same object to the same lens 109, and images of light from respective optical paths 101 and 102 are formed on an image pickup element 111 through the same lens 109. Shutters 103 and 104 which alternately intercept two optical paths 101 and 102 are provided, and image information from two optical paths 101 and 102 are alternately formed on the image pickup element 111. A shutter 110 is provided just before the image pickup element 111, and this shutter 110 just before the image pickup element 111 is opened while one optical path is completely intercepted by filters 103 and 104 which alternately intercept two optical paths 101 and 102, and conversion of image information stored in the image pickup element 111 to an electric signal is completed before said shutter 110 is next opened. Thus, the degradation of image quality due to image duplication and blur and the variance of luminance are prevented with one camera. |
