PURPOSE:To prevent diffusion of toners in a machine and recontamination of a photosensitive body so that continuous formation of good images is allowed by transiently constituting a magnetic brush belt consisting of coated fine spherical magnetic particles, extremely thin belt and magnetic rollers and bringing at least one face there of into contact with the surface of a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic brush belt is transiently constituted by combining the fine spherical magnetic particles, the extremely thin belt 4 and the magnetic rollers 2a, 2b and the remaining toners on the surface of the photosensitive are frictionally adhered on the surface of the fine spherical magnetic particles, by which the toners are removed from the surface of the photosensitive body 1. The residual potential on the surface of the photosensitive body 1 is thereby annihilated without allowing the toners to diffuse in the machine and the efficient cleaning is executed without impressing voltage on the photosensitive body. The longer cleaning stage can be taken by the belt device and friction is substantially eliminated by the technique utilizing a slight difference in circumferential speed. The life of the photosensitive body 1 is thus exceedingly prolonged.
