PURPOSE:To improve the operability of an information processor by storing the directory files into an optical disk, and restoring automatically these files to a magnetic disk when the optical disk is loaded. CONSTITUTION:The data are stored in an optical disk 4 and at the same time a directory record 31a is produced with the replacement contents of the disk 4 recorded into a transaction file 32. When the replacement of the disk 4 is through, the restoration data 41 obtained from the file 32 is recorded to the disk 4 before a closing process is carried out. Then the data 41 is read out and a directory file 31 is restored based on a replacement history 41C stored in the disk 4. Thus it is possible to omit the labor and time to store and restore the file 31 with a floppy disk, etc. Then the operability of an information processor is improved.
