PURPOSE:To contrive the simplification of an operation while omitting the operation to each telephone set by allowing a master equipment to inspect the presence or absence of connection when a predetermined operation is applied at a telephone set having a display function and displaying the number of the telephone set or the like connected normally sequentially. CONSTITUTION:When the installation of the key telephone system is finished, an inspector inputs a system data through a key input/display circuit KEY/DSP of a telephone set TEL 1 to operate the start of the inspection. A main control circuit MEP checks the presence or absence of connection through a control line B to each telephone set in the order of the telephone number at every operation at a specific telephone set and stores the number of a telephone set connected normally to a data memory MM and displays it to a number display section of the telephone set TEL 1. Thus, the telephone sets connected normally are displayed in the ascending order in the number display section of the telephone set TEL 1 in this way, then it is known immediately even if a telephone sets connected wrong exists.
