METHOD FOR AUTOMATING MEASUREMENT OF PREVAILING SIGHT DISTANCE

PURPOSE:To measure objective data of high reliability with good mobility by determining the sight distances in respective bearings by rotational driving of a sight distance meter and subjecting the same to computer processing. CONSTITUTION:A light projector 103 and a light receiver 104 are fixed in the same direction to a base plate 102 of a body 101 having a light emitting part, light receiving part, etc., and a rotator 106 for rotational driving of the body 101 is provided between the body 101 and a stand 105 to constitute the sight distance meter 1. The sight distance meter 1 is rotated in all the directions around the sight distance 1 and the prevailing sight distance is computed by the computer 3 from the relations of the respective sets of the data of an angle indicator 203 and the sight distance meter 1 except the angle data in the direction where there is an obstruction previously stored in the computer 3. The objective data is thereby obtd. without the aid of human subjective judgement and the reliability is enhanced. In addition, the time for the measurement is shortened and the place for the measurement is determinable as desired and, therefore the high mobility is obtd.
