PURPOSE:To facilitate the adjustment of convergence by using an address signal so as to extract an output signal digital convergence signal of a video camera being the result of picking up a display picture for convergence error detection pattern corresponding to a camera position adjustment pattern in a picture display device. CONSTITUTION:A video signal being the result of picking up a green convergence error detection pattern projected at first onto the screen by using a video camera is processed by a video signal processing circuit 12 in the convergence error detection mode. On the other hand, a central arithmetic circuit 17 stores a digital signal outputted from an analog/digital conversion circuit 13 in response to the address signal outputted from an address signal generating circuit 15 as the G data in a 1st area in the frame memory 16. Moreover, the similar processing is executed also to the video signal being the result of picking up the red convergence error detection pattern by using a video camera and the result is stored as an R data in the 2nd area of the frame memory 16.
