PURPOSE:To contrive to stabilize a display by using a nematic liquid crystal whose specific resistance is <1X10<9>OMEGA.cm, for the second nematic liquid crystal CONSTITUTION:Between electrode substrates 7, 8 which is placed opposingly, a nematic liquid crystal 9 which is brought to a twist orientation is inserted and held, and it is used as the first liquid crystal cell 6. Between a pair of substrates 3, 4, the second nematic liquid crystal 5 whose specific resistance is <1X10<9>OMEGA.cm is inserted and held, and it is used as the second liquid crystal cell 2, and polarizing plates 1, 10 are placed on both sides of the liquid crystal cells 2, 6. In such a way, a black-and-white display of a high contrast does not become an uneven display, even if static electricity is generated, and a stable display appearance can always be obtained. |
