PURPOSE:To avoid the unnecessary shift-up of shift speed at time of a turning end by constituting a controller so as to continue the use of turning pattern till it comes to the specified driving state at time of the turning end. CONSTITUTION:At the time of transition from straight running to a turning state, a shift pattern is altered to a turning pattern from a normal pattern whereby the required engine brake is secured during a turn. At time of an turning end, use of the turning pattern is continued while the actual shift speed made by the turning pattern exists at the lower speed side than the shift speed made by the normal pattern corresponding to a driving state at that point of time, whereby such a possibility that the shift speed is shifted up at once at time of the turning end is prevented from occurring. And, at time of transition to the straight running, an accelerator pedal is operated whereby the shift pattern is reset to the normal pattern from the turning pattern at that time when shift speeds by both these patterns become equal.
