PURPOSE:To enable compacting of granular powder having uniform quality and accurate shape by packing the granular powder in space of double cylindrical case, moving a pressurized position while autorotating the case and deforming the case to the prescribed shape. CONSTITUTION:In the space between inner wall 1a and outer wall 1b of metal- made cylindrical case 1 having double wall construction, the granular powder 2 composing of metal, ceramic, carbon or their mixed material, is packed and the upper opening part is closed by annular end plate 3. While autorotating the cylindrical case 1 under horizontal laying condition, etc., as centering the longitudinal directional axis of the case 1, the pressurizing jig 4 is locally pressed, and while shifting the pressurized part, the prescribed plastic deformation is executed to the case 1. The position applying the pressurizing jig 4 is any side among the outer wall 1b side, the inner wall 1a side or from both sides. By this method, the granular body 2 holds generally uniform quantity at any position and compacting density of the obtd. compact becomes almost constant.
