PURPOSE:To provide the title coating compsn. which gives a coating film excellent in heat (impact) resistance, by dissolving or dispersing a particular resin, an oxide of an element selected from Group III, Group IV, transition metal and rare earth elements, and a carbide or nitride of an element selected from Group IIIb and Group IVa elements in an org. solvent. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt., in terms of the amt. of nonvolatile content, mixture (A) of 100pts.wt. at least one member (a) selected from a polyborosiloxane resin, a polycarbosilane resin, a polysilastyrene resin, a polytitanocarbosilane resin and a polysilazane resin and optionally 5-500pts.wt. silicone resin (b), 20-300pts.wt. at least one member (B) (e.g., Al2O3( selected from oxides of Group III, Group IV, transition metal and rear earth elements, 20-300pts.wt. at least one member (C) (e.g., ZrC) selected from carbides and nitrides of Group IIIb and Group IVa elements, and optionally a pigment (D) are dissolved or dispersed in an org. solvent (e.g., N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone).
