PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. which has excellent transparency, pressure-sensitive adhesiveness, water resistance, boiling resistance and adhesive strength, and which comprises a particular aq. emulsion obtd. by emulsion polymn. of an unsatd. monomer. CONSTITUTION:99-60wt.% unsatd. monomer, such as a (meth)acrylic ester of the formula (wherein R1 and R2 are H or methyl; and R3 is 1-18C alkyl) and a vinyl ester of a lower fatty acid (e.g., vinyl acetate), and 1-40wt.% unsatd. monomer having a reactive functional group [e.g., glycidyl (meth) acrylate)] are emulsion polymerized in the presence of an emulsifying agent composed of a polyoxyalkyleneethylene-type unsatd. carboxylic acid polyester and a betaine ester emulsifying agent in wt. proportions of 1/9-9/1 and a polymn. initiator (e.g., H2O2), thereby obtaining an aq. emulsion (A) having an average particle size of 100nm or less, a crosslinked structure and a glass transition temp. lower than that calculated according to the wt. fraction method. Added to the component (A) are a filler, a pigment, an extender, a dispersant, etc. (B).
