PURPOSE:To prepare a health green tea having improved physiological effects and tastiness, by blending powder of dried leaves of Gymnema sylvestre (hereinafter referred to as Gymnema) with powdered green tea. CONSTITUTION:Dried leaves of Gymnema are roasted at 100-250 deg.C for 10-40min and then cooled to room temperature. Foreign materials, such as stems, are removed to pulverize the leaves in a pulverizer. The Gymnema powder is blended with powdered green tea to prepare a health green tea having 5-40% blending ratio of the Gymnema powder per solid weight. Thereby tastiness is remarkably improved and the resultant tea can be used as a food of delicate flavor for beverages and foods. As a result, improved physiological effects of the Gymnema can be effectively utilized.
