PURPOSE:To shorten the execution time of search, by detecting the delimitation of a record according to the coincidence of the value of data desired to be compressed with a record identifying code. CONSTITUTION:Data latches 3-6 receive compression record data from a storage part via a compression data bus 31, and always hold the data of 4 bytes. The data on buses 32-35 outputted from the FIFO-structured latches 3-6 are inputted to a 4 byte comparator 7, and they are compared with the data of 4 bytes always held. When both 4 bytes coincide with each other, a record identifying code check indication signal is outputted onto a signal line 21. Also, the data from the latch 6 to the bus 35 is outputted from a data compression decision part 1, and is inputted to a record delimitation detection part 2 as the data for record identifying code check. A 1 byte comparator 9, when receiving the code check indication signal from the signal line 21, compares the data from the bus 35 with the data from an identifying code bus 36, and when they coincide, a record delimitation signal is outputted onto a signal line 22. |
