PURPOSE:To more precisely separate solutes from each other, solvents from each other, and a solute from a solvent by using an ion-exchange membrane contg. a high molecular compd. having electronic conductivity. CONSTITUTION:For example, an anion-exchange membrane obtained by introducing a quaternary ammonium salt into the high molecular material of a styrene- divinylbenzene copolymer, etc., is dipped in an aq. soln. of pyrrole, and the pyrrole is oxidation-polymerized in the presence of a catalyst such as FeCl3 to obtain an ion-exchange membrane contg. a high molecular compd. having electronic conductivity. When an aq. dil. acid soln., for example, is electrodialytically concd. by using the membrane, the concd. acid can be obtained with extremely high current efficiency almost without any increase in the electric resistance of the membrane.
