<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate torque sensor and steering angle sensor in power steering device by carrying out switching of motor between driving and changing of rotary direction by means of turn right and turn left switches arranged on a steering wheel. CONSTITUTION:When a driver turns a steering wheel 1 to the left, a switch 2 arranged on the steering wheel 1 is turned ON. Consequently, a relay 12 functions to switch from connection between contacts 12, 14 to connection between contacts 13, 14. Consequently, current flows from a battery 11 through relays 10, 12 to a permanent magnet field motor 7 which produces rotary force for turning the steering wheel 1 to the left. Rotary force of the motor 7 is reduced through a reduction gear 6 and drives a steering device through a clutch means 5. When the steering wheel is turned to the right, the motor functions to turn the steering wheel to the right. Consequently, the driver can steer the wheel by placing his hand on the steering wheel and operating a switch.</p> |
