PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous function by inputting an erasure preserving signal immediately after first time application of power source onto an electronic controller and erasing a nonvolatile trouble code memory only when an erasure signal is inputted immediately after second application of power source. CONSTITUTION:An anti-lock brake controller 10 connects a testing device X through a check terminal coupler 6 prior to delivery or when periodic inspection is carried out, then detects normality/abnormality through self diagnosis function and displays the result in code form on a monitor thereafter stores the data in a non-volatile trouble code memory 5. Upon repairment of defective point, an erasure preserving signal is inputted to a predetermined address in the trouble code memory 5 immediately after throw-in of power of the controller 10 and an erasure signal is inputted immediately after second time application of power source. Consequently, existence of erasure preserving flug is searched, and if there is an erasure preserving flug signal, the trouble code memory 5 is erased partially or entirely, so as to prevent erasure due to erroneous operation.
