METHOD FOR STORING DATA IN MEMORY DEVICE IN LAYOUT SCANNER SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To enable considerable reduction in the time required for data processing by storing the image data compressed for the purpose of displaying on a monitor device in the stage of integrating the images together with the image data for recording the reproduced image picked up by an input scanner such as a color scanner into the same memory device or separate memory device. CONSTITUTION:The image signals corresponding to plural original pictures successively photoelectrically scanned by a color scanner 7 are stored via a buffer memory 8, as image data for outputting into a disc memory 9. The image signals are written simultaneously in the line memory of a compression circuit 5 constituted of plural line memories, etc. in this stage and the image data compressed in accordance with the instruction from a CPU1 is formed and stored successively in the address number different from the address number in which the image signals are stored. The need for forming the image data for displaying subjected to data compression by the CPU1 at each time is eliminated in the stage of displaying each image on a monitor device 13. The time for data processing is further reduced if the compressed image data for displaying is stored in a memory device except the disc memory 9.
