PURPOSE:To quicken the decoding speed by sectioning a received compression data into n-bit, using the n-bit data as an address so as to reference a table and obtaining the run length of the compression data by a single table reference. CONSTITUTION:A decode table 2a storing a run length corresponding to a compression code to plural addresses accessed by n-bit compression data including the compression code at its head and a code length table 4a accessed by the obtained run length and storing the bit length of the compression data are provided. Then the data is read by n-bit each from the head of the received compression data is read in the decode table 2a generated in this way and the corresponding run length is obtained and outputted. Moreover, the code length table 4a is accessed by the obtained run length to obtain the code length of the compression data, the bits at the head of the code length are discharged, a novel compression code is added to again access the decode table 2a. Thus, the run length is obtained instantly and the decode speed is quickened. |
